I combine over 20 years of varied global HR leadership experience with over 10 years of cross functional experience, including strategy, finance, marketing and tech. The key benefit of this combinations is that I look at HR, instinctively, through a business lens.
Some may worry about this, thinking I would compromise people considerations in favor of business needs. I believe the exact opposite is true. Businesses exist to create and grow value. Today, more than at any time in history, market value and business performance are driven directly by people. Therefore, ensuring you have the right people who are fully engaged and supported to do their jobs is, simply, the most important thing a business can do.
As I mentioned my HR experience is varied, most recently 7 years as CHRO for 2 PE backed companies. I also have academy company experience in several global roles in 12 years at The Coca-Cola Company, where I focused on talent acquisition, talent management, organization effectiveness, and global HR transformation.
Cross functionally, I have over 10 years in business strategy (Head of Strategy for $3 billion company plus strategy consultant at 2 firms); marketing; finance (I am a CPA with MBA in finance and Marketing, plus 5 years in finance); and tech (I co-founded a tech start up, grew it to 150 employees, raised $55 million in capital, and sold to a publicly traded software company).
My industry experience includes CPG, retail, manufacturing, distribution, education, healthcare, and professional services. I have worked for and consulted to companies from start-ups to global multi-nationals.
Finally, experience is absolutely useless unless 3 things happen: it is retained; it is adapted to the current context/company; and it is applied effectively. Whatever skills I may have, the ability to properly leverage my experience to a specific situation is perhaps my best.
